Let’s be honest: finding a restaurant that makes everyone in the family happy can be a tall order. You want good food, a relaxed atmosphere, and a place where kids can be kids. Luckily, Fort Worth has some amazing spots that check all the boxes!
Here are five of our favorite kid-friendly restaurants in Fort Worth—each offering great food and a fun, welcoming vibe for the whole crew. (And hey, while you're out and about, why not make a stop at The Happy Lark? We're all about fun for kids and parents alike!)
📍 Near TCU
🍕 Pizza, pasta, and playfulness.
Zoli’s is the kind of place where kids can enjoy a slice (or three) while parents savor seriously good Italian comfort food. The outdoor space is probably the best one in town for kiddos-- there's a few large play structures, and always new friends to meet and play with. The vibe is casual, colorful, and always lively—perfect for noisy little ones who love pizza and pasta. Don’t miss their garlic knots or the cheeky names on the menu. Bonus: there’s plenty of space to spread out, so it never feels cramped. Zoli's is our go-to when celebrating with friends. If you fancy a cocktail, try the Tanglewood Twist!
📍 Near the Zoo & TCU
🍔 Tasty eats + a huge outdoor space for wiggles.
Roger’s Roundhouse is a local favorite for families, thanks to its large outdoor seating area and laid-back atmosphere. They’ve got picnic tables, lawn games, and even a sand area for kids to dig in while you enjoy a burger and local beer. It’s a great spot to relax after a day at the Fort Worth Zoo or nearby museums. Roger's Roundhouse is dog friendly too. We always bring our dog Bosworth when we go. We love the chicken nuggets and Frog Fries.
📍 Panther Island
🍖 Texas BBQ + riverfront views.
Heim’s riverside location is perfect for families who want great food and room to roam. While you chow down on brisket and bacon burnt ends (yes, please!), the kids can stretch their legs and explore the outdoor area. The open-air patio and scenic views make it feel like a mini outing in itself. We've loved this location as our kids have gotten older. Bring a football to throw around!
📍 Trinity River Trails
🔥 Rustic vibes + riverside fun.
Chef Tim Love’s laid-back BBQ joint is ideal for families, especially if you've been out biking or walking the Trinity Trails. With lots of outdoor seating and frequent live music, it’s a great place to kick back and enjoy some wood-fired eats while kids stay entertained by the open space and energetic vibe. My oldest daughter inhales their elotes!
📍 Clearfork
🥗 Chic but casual—with space for strollers.
Press Cafe combines great food with a relaxed, family-welcoming environment. Located along the Trinity Trails in the Clearfork area, it’s perfect after a walk or bike ride with the kids. There’s outdoor seating galore, kid-friendly options on the menu, and it’s stroller-friendly—which parents know is key. Press is a little pricey, but their happy hour includes half-off apps, so try to get there for that.
